Whether you travelling by train, car, boat, plane or a magic carpet we are all guilty of forgetting things at home! As always you’ll finally remember what you’ve forgotten once you’re half way there, so in our latest blog post were sharing our travel essentials for your next trip to London.

Travel Documents:

This is arguably the most important thing you need to have for any trip, make sure you have your passport/ID, boarding pass, visa, accommodation address (and any other documents) when travelling abroad. It seems so obvious but many unfortunate guests often miss flights because they forget their passports at home and this means paying more for flights and checking in much later than planned. Be sure to make a check list of what you need and make sure you’ve ticked everything off before leaving. Our top tip is to make sure you email copies of the documents to yourself so you have back-ups online in case you lose yours!

Charger/battery:

Any modern traveller will tell you to make sure you have battery life on your phone, a great way to make sure you’re always charged is keeping spare batteries, power banks or portable chargers. Most airports/train stations will have places where you can charge your phone whilst you get enough battery to make important calls or check useful information. Most underground stations now have free WiFi, this is a great way to stay in touch whilst you’re travelling.

Tube Map:

The London underground tube network is definitely the fastest way to travel across London and can seem like a daunting place, but fear not, there are some great free apps that can help you get around the city, our favourite is Tube Map London Underground App, simply type in your to and from destinations and the app will calculate the best route for you to take. It works offline and is absolutely free making it the perfect travel companion.

Money:

Cash is king! We suggest carrying some money with you whether you’re looking to buy a souvenir, some food or in case of emergencies. Bank cards and contactless phone payments apps are great and handy but we always recommend carrying some good old fashion pounds with you!

Toiletries:

Travel toiletries are a must for any trip, lotions, sun creams and hand sanitisers are all lifesavers if you spill coffee on your hands and for when the sun decides to make an appearance. Be sure to pack any medicine that you need as it is always better to be safe than sorry.

London is an amazing city with lots of things to do, see and eat, don’t worry if you forget anything as you’ll be sure to find it here in London and if you can’t find it in London it probably doesn’t exist! But be sure to have the above essentials with you and you’ll be prepped and ready for an incredible stay in London.
