In our latest blog we explore all things East London and more specifically Stratford. Stratford has become a standout area in East London with many things to see and do from the Olympic Stadium to (one of) Europe’s biggest shopping centres, Westfield. The area has gone through some fantastic regeneration since the 2012 Olympics and its fantastic transport links mean you can get to anywhere in the City, making it a hotspot for young professionals and tourists

Eat:

Darkhorse restaurant

Stratford is guilty of having a sea of chain restaurants and few places where you can find a fine quality dining experience. Darkhorse is an exception to this rule, serving a Spanish and Italian inspired menu served in a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant also serves a range of wines, beers and original cocktails. This modern European restaurant is the perfect place to visit after a shopping spree in Westfield!

Drink:

Sky bar & Terrace at Aspres Casino

Set on the top floor of the Apres casino, this slick modern bar complete with a fabulous chandelier and stylishly relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect venue for people-watching and soaking up the views of the capital. Serving the best in cocktails and drinks and should you wish to have a dance with lady luck the casino below will fulfil your desire.

Visit:

Westfield

Stratford is home to one of Europe’s largest shopping centres, which is home to high street and designer brands, restaurants, bars and just about anything else you can think of. Sitting alongside the Olympic stadium and with numerous transport links to the city it is filled with shoppers but never fills overcrowded due to its sheer size. It is a must visit for all guests, be sure to bring your credit card.

See:

Olympic Stadium

Opened in 2012, serving as the home stadium for the summer 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, many historic sporting events have taken place here by notable athletics such as Usain Bolt, Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis to name a few. The stadium is now home to East London’s own premier league team West Ham United. Tours can be taken of this iconic ground and visitors can view behind the scenes and put themselves in the shoes of their favourite sporting hero. Stratford holds a special place in the history of London and with there being so much to see and do, you’ll never have a dull day in the area.
